Videoing and sharing your hunts in 4K just got easier – The Sony FDR-AX100 is not only smaller and lighter than its bigger brothers, it's also more budget-friendly. "4K for $2K." When you stack up the AX100's full 1" Exmor R CMOS sensor able of capturing cinematic images with a shallow depth-of-field (blurry background) to other handycams they just don't stand a chance. Not to mention the capability of filming super slow-motion at 120fps. This little powerhouse is definitely putting 4K power into the hands of consumers.

Why film in 4K?
• 4 Times the color clarity and detail
• In post you can zoom up to 200% and maintain HD quality
• You can shoot your video wide and then reframe it in post
• The "warp stabilizer" in post has 4x the amount of information to work with, resulting in less shaky footage

For long hunts, the Sony FDR-AX100 includes a 2 to 3 hour battery. Recording in 4K just got easier by keeping the same media that we all love. With all that information that is being recorded with 4K, you will definitely need at least a 64GB SDXC card. And, through in a couple of extra NP-FV70 batteries, you'll have plenty of power to film that recovery after dark!

The Sony FRD-AX100 has a 12x optical zoom that will bring that buck in close, and with the superb optical quality of Sony's lens, he'll look just as good 200 yards out as he will on your wall. Along with its bigger brother, the Sony FDR-AX100 features a manual focus wheel that allows you to manually focus on the buck and not the annoying tree limbs in front! Also, now you have the option to change the function of the wheel from controlling your focus to controlling your zoom. Threads around the lens of the camera allow you to easily extend your zoom capabilities with the addition of a telephoto lens. Don't forget to screw on a UV Filter to protect your lens from scratches and dirt!

This camera features Sony's first 1.0" Exmor R CMOS sensor that is great for shooting in dimly lit environments. And with the Optical SteadyShot Image Stabilization, no one will never know how much you were shaking when you released your bow! But if you really need proof, how about slowing down that shot by filming that shot at 120fps. To cut down on movement, you can connect your smartphone via Wi-Fi for one-touch remote control and one-touch sharing.

4K Video allows you more room to adjust the video in post production, but if that's not your thing you can still record MP4 60p Full HD movies that are ideal for sharing over the web. Shoot in Native 24p 4K Mode to give your videos a film-like feel, making it look as if it were shot the same way as your favorite movie! And, with the 1" Exmore R CMOS Sensor , the AX100 gives you the opportunity to shoot spectacular shots with the dramatic look of shallow depth-of-field (subject in focus, background blurred). Not to mention the 3 built-in ND Filters.

Designed with outdoor videographers in mind, the camcorder also comes with a high quality microphone input. This connection makes it possible to get even better audio with the Rode VideoMic mounted to the camera. But for the professional who wants to capture the best audio you will need XLR shoe adapter kit to allow you to use a shotgun microphone and wireless microphone at the same time! And, if you plug in a good set of headphones, you may even hear that bruiser coming before you see him!

After the hunt's over, insert your SDHC card into your computer. A little basic editing with a user-friendly software and you're ready to show the world through Facebook, Youtube, or even DVD. Recording and sharing your adventures has never been easier!

The highly compressed files allow for longer record times. The camcorder also records in AVCHD, providing high-quality video for HDTV playback and Blu-ray disc burning. Additionally, the camcorder can shoot MP4 HD video, which is ideal for sharing over the internet at up to 28Mbps. Please note that an SDXC UHS-I U3 or higher card is required for 4K 100 Mbps recording. The firmware update also brings to the camera the ability to capture images from XAVC S movie, adjustable trimming frame size when using the Trimming Playback function with XAVC S 4K movies, and improved autofocus performance when tracking a person.

Carl Zeiss Vario Sonnar T* Lens with 12x Optical Zoom

Detail reproduction technology optimally filters edges and textures differently depending on the scene. It also features area specific noise reduction which swiftly and efficiently analyzes the subject and reduces noise. The image processor also allows you to record at 120 fps for slow-motion playback at 1/5th the speed when played back at 24 fps after post-processing.

Optical SteadyShot Image Stabilization with Active Mode
Optical SteadyShot Image Stabilization with Intelligent Active Mode is an advanced optical Image stabilization technology that corrects camera shake to capture scenes with smoothness and stability. Intelligent Active Mode analyzes video frames and provides compensation with assistance from the BIONZ X image processing engine. Whether recording movies while walking or zooming, you can capture scenes with a higher level of stability.

High Contrast 0.39" OLED EVF
The FDR-AX100 provides a high contrast 0.39" OLED Tru-Finder EVF which reproduces rich color and deep blacks. The optical design of the EVF utilizes four dual-surface aspherical lenses, allowing for a 33° wide viewing angle that is clear from edge-to-edge of the viewfinder.
