File Organization For Your Videos

File Organization For Your Videos

What in the world do you do with the million video clips you have? Organize and back them up on your computer.

Here is an example of how we organize our files by the year.
Hunting video editing clip file organization

Set this up in the beginning and it will be easy to find what you are looking for when you go to edit.

Another type we have is to keep a second folder structor for B-Roll Footage. You can put your clips into multiple folders. I would add it to the specific hunt/day as well as B-roll footage if it is B-roll.
B-Roll footage is footage that you can use in between your video as fillers. They don't always have to be shot at the exact day but you can go back and fill in with your "stock" b-roll footage.

Find a plan that works for you and stick too it!

We also recommend backing the files up on external hard drives to make sure you have a copy.
